My Saturday night D&D game had to be canceled, because the GM wasn't able to begin until late, and half the players needed to go to sleep early. So, instead, three of us played a game of Fiasco; our first time playing the game ever.
It's time again for Bronycon, and this year I'm glad to be a part of it. It's always fun to get together with my fellow fans and geeks of all flavors, and last year's Bronycon was one one of my favorites. I expect I'll be spending most of the con in the Stabletop Games room, as it most suits my interests; I'm afraid I've never been much for panels. As it so happens, I'll also be running a game this time 'round: Don't Rest Your Hooves. It's just about my favorite pony-based
Or yesterday, I guess, since it's nearly 3:30am.
Anyway, one of my friends wants to start up a campaign of Paranoia, and a couple days ago he had another friend and me create our characters for the campaign. One thing led to another, and the two characters became identical twins... with identical names. At some point, we came up with the idea of using a ME Card prop and passing it back and forth.
And Naan is returning as the lead of Children's Programming - exciting news for the both of us.
I'll be running through my usual contact list to rehire people, but do let me know if you're interested in working in BABSCon's Tabletop Gaming next April, either as staff or with a tabletop gaming event. Volunteer and staff applications are open.
A Kickstarter to help fund the production run of Exalted Third Edition launched last Thursday. The Kickstarter ends on June 8. Donations can be anything upwards of $1 USD, and Onyx Path Publishing has already exceeded their goal by more than five times, with over 2,000 people backing the project. (They still have stretch goals, with the next goal to be reached in about ~$5,000.)
I am now the head of Tabletop Gaming at BABSCon.
The old head was fired and his badge pulled for dereliction of duty, so if your volunteer application or event submission hasn't been processed yet, that's the reason why.
The Exalted Third Edition backer PDF landed today. Along with squeeing and... other things... I found this on page 65 of the PDF:
A REPORT ON THE DISAPPEARANCE OF THE SCARLET EMPRESS
My Lady:
The day has finally come, my Exalted 3rd Edition Ultra-Deluxe edition book has arrived!
Such a nice, dark leather.
I've had the PDF for a while, of course, but it's nice to have the physical copy in my hands. Also, it's shiny.
Hello everyone; I've got two quick announcements.
First, and perhaps most importantly, the next pair of chapters for In an Effort to Stay Evil are off to the prereaders. If all goes well, that means they'll be published within the next few days. To everyone who's enjoyed the ride so far and been hoping for more, let me say thank you; for your interest, your patience, and for temporarily pushing it up to #4 on the site - which still amuses the heck out of me.
To quote the artist,
Shadys player made the mistake of liking me. Cant have that now can we?
The art-trolling is hilarious.
I'm going to begin running a campaign of Unknown Ponies: Failure is Awesome soon, over on Roll20. The LFP listing for the campaign is here. That page includes a brief overview of the campaign's setting, as well as a couple links with system information.
Yesterday was the first session of my Unknown Ponies: Failure is Awesome campaign, "Cutie Mark Crusaders Troop #185." The session revolved around getting one of the players' parents to sign a permission slip to go on a trip with his fellow Crusaders over spring break.
Today, Cutie Mark Crusaders Troop #185 managed to...
* Make a compass out of cloud
* Learn how to buck clouds and shoot lightning bolts
* Burn some cactus to a crisp
* Create fulgurite
* Learn about what goes into making glass
* Piss off a stranger
* Crash a mobile weapons platform cloud base / weapon of mass destruction and make it explode
A few weeks ago, one of my NPCs gave one of the PCs a peck on the cheek and ran away. This has naturally devolved into foals exploring relationships in the most cute and/or embarrassing ways.
The Crusaders managed to get some chocolate mousse to the Very Important Pony who missed dinner. There may have been some breaking and entering involved, but hey -- it was for a good cause, and the adorable little foals made a friend in the process.
The fact that their new friend turned out to be the youngest Equestrian Princess was a surprise to everypony.
Looking for help on this. Full details here.
Last session, my players met with an elder god and blew up a mountain. This was primarily caused by Gin Gear, who wanted to investigate the mountain in the first place, and started feeding pegasus-assisted wind power to said ur-god, giving it the jump-start it needed to do its thing.
Pictured:
Top Left Red Robin and Gin Gear, finally taking the leap
Middle Left Joyous Star* and Moon Dancer, alone for the first time
Top Right Shady Simile and Neon*, a little uncertain on the whole "date" concept
Middle Right Otan* and Torchlight, just enjoying the meteor shower
Bottom Oakheart, scheming mastermind
I want to build the very best, like no one ever did...
To be approved is my real test, to withstand time is my bid...I will travel across the land, learning all I can...
Each architect to teach this brand, the skills to draw the plan...Chorus:
Carpentry! Gotta build 'em all!
It's all on me...
I know it's my destiny!
Carpentry!
Ooooh, you're my best friend...
In a design space I will up-end!
Carpentry! Gotta build 'em all!
A base so true...
